About

'Wolski’s voice is clear as a bell and pleasantly rounded, a thing of delicacy and depth.'

Chris Wheatley – Folk Radio UK

'The timbre of [Wolski]'s voice immediately enrapt me – mature yet child-like, innocent yet world-weary[.]'

Shaun O'Neill – Kraków Music

Paula Wolski grew up singing Finnish folk songs in a choir, and hating her father’s country music cassette tapes, only to find later in life that her musical center was somewhere between the two. Though she sings in Finnish, many of her songs are closer to americana than the stark melancholy of Finnish folk. Among the singers she admires the most are Gillian Welch, Iris DeMent and Alison Krauss.

She has toured extensively in Poland, which she called home for close to 15 years – first as a back-up vocalist, then as a founding member of the boisterous all-female americana trio Ornery Broad, and finally playing her own music, often accompanied by the singer-songwriter duo Miód. She has performed at numerous festivals, including the folk music festival Valašsky špaliček in Czechia, the Nordic countries' largest ukulele festival Tropical Winter Ukulele Fest, Rootsinpyhtää Bluegrass, Kaustinen Folk Music Festival and Helsinki Folk Festival, as well as at the Songbirds Festival in Krakow, Poland.
